The Level 2 (Fundamentals) Coach Certification course takes place over 5, 8-hour, training days followed by a 2 day Assessment Course a minimum of 3 months later. The Fundamentals Coach course covers the vital elements of coaching science and methodology required to effectively deliver parkour / freerunning sessions. Following the 5 day training course the tutor will give feedback to each candidate to help them prepare for the assessments.
The course tutor will also decide how many reflective learning hours of coaching the candidate must complete and log, ranging from 20-40 hours, ahead of the Assessment Course.
The ADAPT Level 2 Course teaches participants about:
Coaching models, methods and styles, cueing and effective communication
Progressions and Regressions for practical movement skills
Concepts of challenge, discovery and exploration
Breaking jumps, fear management and acceptable risk
Functional biomechanics for practical movement training
Understanding deliberate practice and the science of expertise
Level 1 Coach Certifcate
Must hold a valid and up-to-date First Aid certificate
Recommended minimum 3-5 years parkour training
Recommended minimum 1-2 years assistant parkour coaching
Must be 18 years of age or over
