FAQs
How do I know if I'm ready to join an ADAPT Level 1?
ADAPT Level 1 is the entry level course for parkour instructors. Participants should have an understanding of the basic parkour techniques and should be comfortable training within a group in a variety of settings and environments. Prior teaching experience is useful, although not required.
What do I need to do to pass ADAPT?
In order to receive the ADAPT Level 1 certification; participants must complete the 3-day course, which involves practical assessments as well as a written assessment. Candidates can then begin logging the required supervised coaching session with an ADAPT Level 2 or Level 3 instructor, including a final “assessed live coaching session" at the end of this period. If successful, the candidate will then receive the ADAPT Level 1 Certification.
Note: The supervised coaching sessions with a Level 2 or Level 3 instructor must be completed within 12 months from the end of the course.
How do the supervised coaching sessions and "assessed live coaching sessions" work?
The supervised coaching hours are designed to make sure that the candidate is able to instruct at a level consistent with the ADAPT Level 1 standard. The sessions must be completed with a certified ADAPT Level 2 or Level 3 instructor, who can be found in a number of cities around the country. Many participants are able to complete most of their supervised hours at workshops and/or classes that usually take place directly after the course in the host city.
How can I find a Level 2 Coach to supervise my post-course hours?
For a complete list of Level 2 and Level 3 coaches in your area go to : https://store.adaptqualifications.com/pages/adapt-certified or email info@adaptqualifications.com
If you are still unable to access a Level 2 Coach you can also submit videos of classes you run to us, to be checked and approved by our in-house tutor team. While this does not provide the immediate feedback of an in-person supervision, it does qualify as your Post-Course Learning.
