What Our
Coaches Say
Real reflections from ADAPT certified coaches across the world. What the certification gave them, how it changed how they coach, and what they would say to someone considering it.
The coaches on this page represent one thing: a standard applied consistently, in every country, since 2008. These are their words, unedited.
Before ADAPT, my instinct as a coach was just to demonstrate. What the certification changed was the direction of my attention: it moved from my own body to the practitioner standing in front of me.
I learned to coach the person I actually have, not the movement I have in my head. That shift is the difference between someone who can move and someone who can teach.

“This course deepened my understanding of parkour and gave me more confidence in how I structure lessons and communicate with students. It helped me connect knowledge from other fields to my parkour coaching, contributing not only to better technical instruction but to better lessons and a stronger community.”
“ADAPT helped me think more deeply about why we teach movement, not just how we teach it. It gave me practical coaching tools that I use every week at BIG JUMP.”
“What changed for me after ADAPT was a sense that coaching parkour is so much more mental than physical. Coaching is about calming a student's fears, meeting them where they are, and holding patience and positivity. When I meet someone who has the right qualities for coaching, I always encourage them to try it.”
The certificate means giving a voice and recognition to all those years of passion and practice. It made me realise that the experience I gained training in the streets and building a community has become the reward for that hard work. The traceur in me can smile.
It is not enough to have passion or skills. The coach is a 360-degree role that can have a huge impact on a practitioner's life. The course gave me a structure and a range of tools to keep improving.
To someone considering ADAPT: absolutely do it.

“Every time I take part in an ADAPT course, I discover a new perspective on coaching and learning. It reminds me that there is no single correct answer. What matters is understanding each person, recognising their physical, mental and emotional state, and learning together to find the most appropriate way forward.
What I have learned through ADAPT extends far beyond parkour. It influences how I learn, how I support my family, how I work alongside my students, and how I contribute to my community.
I sincerely recommend it to anyone who is passionate about learning and teaching. Although it is rooted in parkour, its philosophy reaches far beyond our discipline.”
“Going into ADAPT I thought of it as a rite of passage. What I found was a deeply considered coaching course with material that was focused, precise and immediately applicable. It pulled together every concept I had discovered over time and prompted new ones. There are so many dimensions to the skill set of an ADAPT-certified coach — something I had not seen or experienced in parkour before. Thank you for being an example of what this discipline can be.”
“After completing my ADAPT certification, I started to receive instruction requests from other acrobatic gyms and organisations. By obtaining an internationally recognised teaching qualification, you earn the trust of those around you and, above all, you can teach with real confidence. I would recommend it to anyone who is considering it.”

ADAPT has helped shape my community and the quality of the courses we have delivered over the past 13 years. It represents a high standard in parkour coaching, and one of the main reasons I pursued the certification was its reputation as a trusted benchmark for quality, professionalism and coaching excellence.
I would love to see ADAPT adopted in many more countries around the world.
